What is a catalogue shoot, and how does a combined shoot work?
By CPH Studio · Published
A catalogue shoot photographs each garment on a model in a consistent style, so a full collection can be listed or shared with buyers. At CPH Studio in Surat, combined shoots have no minimum order. Garments from several clients are shot together and charged per garment, with 6–7 edited pictures each.
What is a catalogue shoot?
A catalogue shoot is a planned photoshoot where every garment in a collection is photographed in the same style: similar lighting, framing, background and editing. The aim is consistency. When a buyer scrolls through your listings, your WhatsApp catalogue or your wholesale lookbook, the collection should look like it belongs together.
For saree, kurti, dress and ethnic-wear businesses, that usually means each garment is worn by a model and photographed from several angles. Close-ups show the fabric, print and finishing.
Catalogue shoot kya hota hai?
In simple words, it's a shoot where your whole collection is photographed one by one, in one consistent look, so you can use the pictures for selling.
How is a catalogue shoot different from a campaign shoot?
A catalogue shoot is about showing each product clearly and consistently. A campaign shoot builds a styled story, for example around a launch, a festive collection or your brand, often with a custom concept or an outdoor location. At CPH Studio, campaign and outdoor shoots are fully customisable and quoted per shoot. Read more about campaign and outdoor shoots.
What is a combined (no-MOQ) catalogue shoot?
A combined shoot is how CPH Studio photographs garments from different clients together. Instead of booking a full shoot day for only your pieces, your garments are clubbed with garments from other clients that use the same type of shoot and the same set.
Is there a minimum order?
No. Combined catalogue shoots have no minimum order quantity. You can send a small batch or a full collection.
How is a combined shoot charged?
Combined shoots are charged per garment. Campaign and outdoor shoots are different: they are custom and budgeted per shoot. For details on how quotes work, see how pricing works.
How are garments from different clients grouped?
Before anything is clubbed, we send you an approval for the type of shoot and the set to be used. Once you approve, we club your garments with others approved for the same shoot type and set. That way, your pictures match the look you agreed to, and the shoot runs efficiently for everyone.
Who chooses the model and the look?
CPH provides the models, so you do not need to arrange a separate model booking. Discuss any specific model requirements with us before confirming your shoot. Your input comes through the approval step: you confirm the type of shoot and the set, and we plan your garments into the right combined shoot.
How often do combined shoots happen?
We have frequent shoot days through the month. There are usually more before major festive seasons and around major e-commerce platform sales, and things are typically slower after the festive season. We don't promise a specific shoot date. Confirm availability with us when you share your garment list.
What does CPH include in a catalogue shoot?
A combined catalogue shoot at CPH Studio is a complete service:
- Models: provided by CPH.
- Styling: handled by the studio.
- Photography: in our Khatodara, Surat studio.
- Post-production: editing done in-house.
You send the garments; we take care of the rest. You can read the full process on how it works.
What do you receive, and how long does it take?
For combined garment shoots, you receive 6–7 final edited pictures per garment. Delivery is typically 5–6 working days from the day of the shoot, not from the day your garments reach us.
If you need the pictures for a specific listing date, tell us when you book so we can talk through shoot availability.
Do sarees get shot differently?
Yes. At CPH Studio, saree photo shoots are always on real models. A saree's value is in how it drapes and how the pallu and border fall when it's worn, and that only shows properly on a person. We do not offer flat-lay, mannequin or product-only saree shoots.
We also offer AI/CGI-generated saree imagery as a separate service. Those images are always labelled "AI/CGI-generated" and are never presented as a model shoot or as photography. For real saree photography, see saree model catalogue shoots.
Can I send garments from outside Surat?
Yes. We work with clients across India, and garments can be couriered to our studio from anywhere in the country. Contact us before dispatch so we can confirm your brief, the garment list and the return arrangements. See send garments across India for the steps.
What should I share before booking?
A short brief helps us plan your garments into the right shoot. Before you book, share:
- How many garments you want shot, and which categories (sarees, kurtis, dresses, lehengas and so on).
- Where the pictures will be used: Meesho, Amazon, Myntra, Flipkart, your own website, WhatsApp or wholesale catalogues.
- Reference images of the look you like.
- Your timeline, so we can check shoot availability.
- Any marketplace image rules for your category. Our marketplace image requirements guide explains what to check in your seller portal.
